Professional experience
I have been fortunate to work on a variety of projects with a variety of organisms in the past. This page is an outline of my more recent previous experience thus far (excluding graduate research), current CV available upon request. I seek to be on the front line of conservation in the future, while continuing to make a difference in my community.

FIELDWORK

Biological science technician
U.S. Forest Service- Rocky Mountain Research Station (June- August 2014)
Investigated the effects of energy development on ferruginous hawks (Buteo regalis) through monitoring nest productivity and trapping males to fit GPS transmitters. Opportunistically banded females and young hawks. Sampled mammal and avian prey species along line transects.

Herpetological research technician
Sakaerat Conservation and Snake Education Team (February- June 2014)
Captured, anesthetized, marked, measured, placed/reviewed time-lapse cameras, and radiotracked king cobras (Ophiophagus hannah) and green pit vipers (Trimeresurus spp.). Constructed, maintained, and checked drift fence arrays and subsequently measured and marked snakes, lizards, frogs, and toads captured.

Herpetofaunal technician
Alabama A&M University (April- December 2013)
Constructed, maintained, and checked drift fences as part of a long term study investigating effects of prescribed fire and thinning on forest communities. Measured and marked snakes, lizards, salamanders, toads, and frogs captured. Performed habitat surveys around drift fences. Conducted preliminary presence and habitat surveys for Northern pine snakes (Pituophis melanoleucus). Captured endemic flattened musk turtles (Sternotherus depressus). Banded passerines at several sites in Tennessee and northern Alabama.

Desert tortoise monitor
POWER Engineers (September 2012- February 2013)
Monitored electrical line construction activities. Utilized tortoise burrow, carcass, and scat identification system as outlined by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

Herpetological field technician
Texas A&M University, College Station (April- September 2012)
Investigated the demographic and community ecology of lizards in the Mescalaro Sands ecosystem of New Mexico, particularly the dunes sage brush lizard (Sceloporus arenicolus), through pitfall trap arrays.

Biological field assistant
California State University, San Diego (May- August 2011)
Investigated predator- prey interactions between western rattlesnakes (Crotalus oreganus) and California ground squirrels (Spermophilus beecheyi) at the Blue Oak Ranch Reserve and between sidewinder rattlesnakes (Crotalus cerastes) and desert kangaroo rats at the CSU Fullerton Desert Studies Center through capture of both predator and prey species, radiotracking rattlesnakes, and placing/reviewing cameras.

Bird banding intern
Audubon California Starr Ranch (Winters 2010 and 2011)
